Capernwray Sprint Tri / Aqua Series

Due to the continuing of social distancing we have introduced a few changes. A new run route (measuring 4.3km) now minimises the amount of passing between athletes.  Please check the Strava map and further details can be found HERE

Once you have registered please email for a start time. We plan to have rolling starts from 17:00 in groups of five, five minutes apart. Social distancing will be observed at all times, including registration, briefing and transition. We ask you to be extra vigilant on the course and for the time being discourage spectators to the Centre. It will be different but we hope you can support us safely at this time.

July 1st BRIEFING

Capernwray Triathlons are a great way to get your Tri fix on a week day. They’re super friendly and relaxed, so are also an ideal way to take your first steps into Triathlon.

What makes these events so nice is the swim in the cool ,clear waters of the flooded quarry that is Capernwray. Follow this with an undulating bike route that loops through lanes of Lancashire, then an out and back run along the Lancaster canal tow path and you’ll see why this is such a popular mid week event.

Are you completely new to Triathlon? Want to just get a taste of the sport to start with?? Then maybe have a go at the Aquathon. (July and August only) It’s the same swim as the Tri and the same run, but no bike section. A great taster, then maybe come back the following month for the full monty!

  • Registration: from 16:30
  • Start times: July from 17:00
  • Minimum Age to enter: 15
  • Places available: 100
  • Included: Chip timing, free parking, water safety cover, professional photographs.
