Semer Water Swim Run
Have you seen Swim Run events? This is a great way to test out this type of event before stepping up to one of the longer distances.
This is a full tour of Semer Water and the surrounding hills in one event combining 4 swims in the dark, cool Semer Water and 3 runs each heading up into the hills in different directions.
Swim Run is a relatively new discipline with it’s own specific wetsuits, but these are not absolutely necessary as you could take an old wetsuit and cut down the arms and legs.
Special things to note about Swim Runs…
Solo entrants need to use a tow float, everyone needs to carry a whistle, there’s a basic feed at each water entrance (water, sweet treats). You may use tow ropes, paddles, pull buoys and fins (less than 15 cms), but remember all equipment must be taken round the whole course!
It’s a challenging and fun event, so it’s only right that there’s a good reward of a special finishers slate cheeseboard with a typically Wensleydale theme as well as a well earned cup of Yorkshire tea and cake at the finish line.
